I've been a patient there and it;s a wonderful hospital, place! Thank you Shepherd Center and Pathways for the many ways you have helped me and all that you have done for me! Thank you Mrs. Shepherd!
Shephard is such a great place! it helped me so much. I spent about a year in Shepherd care, 4 months at Shepherd Center and 8 months @ Pathways! Thanks! My dr. is retired, but I'm still close to him, I went to lunch with him yesterday. Thanks Shepherd!
Is ekso and indego the same company now? I used to work for Parker had a stroke dnd ended up using ekso in acute rehab. I started looking for indego but I can’t find too much sbout it anymore.
Paralyzed chicks hit me up, I'm not scared of you!
I found this video on another website ages ago but it was taken down. I have just found it again here.
Highly recommend getting a free will, if you plan on being competitive. It'll help save your castors from the terrain!
I think she doing it wrong??
What's the height from floor to. Top of cushion on chair
I am from India. I have D 6&7 injury. I want to talk with anyone. Because of I teach English subject here. That's why I survive. Please talk with me
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ms. Alana Shepherd is a wonderful, kind lady and a force of nature. I rehabbed at Shepherd in 1986 and she engaged and encouraged me and all who came during that difficult time. What they have done there since then is a testament to the caring, motivating kindness she and her late husband have for the neurologically impaired. God bless you Ms. Alana.
She's from say yes to the dress

Great video, thank you! But can you turn the commercials off in the middle? I had to stop 4 times to skip the commercials. ❤
Say thanks to UA-cam for this 😅
@@SimbaSteel Apparently content creators can choose where commercials go and how many!
I was a patient here, and it was an amazing place. I broke my neck in 4 places, and it was such a wonderful place. Thank you, Alana Shepard and the Shepard staff, for everything you did for me and for others. Sincerely, John Tolman 🙏
I just got diagnosed I’m 18😢
I love this place i was there in 2018. i had a stroke i had to learn how to walk again liz was my therapist.
The "why would anyone want to date me" question is frequently on anyone's mind who is dealing with this type of permanent injury, though I'd argue it's more problematic for men because many women assume that we cannot perform. It's tricky cuz you want to explain and dissuade the person of an assumption they may be making but it's still early days and you don't want to explicitly address sex and your anatomy situation.
I somehow missed a golden opprotunity to walk again and I'm still trying to understand what happened, but I do know that on October 4th 2015 I suffered a stroke and a herniated cervical disc at the same time in the early evening of that Sunday, while at work in Buford, Ga and I was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta by ambulance and then later on October 19th, 2015Grady Hospital discharged me to North Fulton County Hospital in Roswell, Ga to receive post stroke acute physical therapy yet no one tried to find the reason for my severe neck pain at either Grady or North Fulton County Hospitals, It wouldn't be until 2018 that Dr Nicolas Wieder at Kaiser Permenente Town park Medical Center Kenesaw, Ga decided to have me get a MRI done of my neck and he discovered that I had a herniated cervical disc causing my pain, but during 2016 I was having regular appointments with a neurologist at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, this particular neurologist had been on the team at Grady Memorial Hospital when I first arrived at Grady in October 2015 and during one of my appointments with him he suggested that I probably should have gone directly to the Shepard Center for acute physical therapy instead of North Fulton Hospital. I believe that the physical therapy staff at North Fulton tried to do the best for me, but nobody seemed interested in addressing the source of my pain in my neck and I know now that the pain in my neck in combination with the many prescription drugs they had me on was causing side effects which included brain fog, blurred vision, etc... the combination of these side effects greatly restricted my ability to gain more progress through physical therapy at North Fulton In 2017 I spoke with my medical insurance company and they said that if Grady had refered me to the Shepard Center it would have been approved, but now I am still not able to walk and I' still fighting to get my meds right, it appears to be the anti seizer meds that give me the most problems.I tcan't do anything about it now, but I would just like to know why I wasn't sent to the Shepard Center. The Emory neurologist that told me that I should have gone to the Shepard Center said that it wasn't hi decision and that it was in fact the decision of the Grady Hospital social worker to decide where I should go. I feel that somebody dropped the ball and today they don't even realize how bad they messed upI love North Fulton and what they did for me is stilll helping me get through the daily life of a hemi palegic, but they didn't have the experience that the Shepard Center has
I REMEMBER DIVING HEAD FIRST FROM 20 FEET, FELT LIKE A CONCRETE BLOCK HIT ME IN THE HEAD, THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I DID THAT, FEET FIRST ONLY AND NOT TOO HIGH

If it's really a non profit, why can't they take people with insurance.
I wish my brother's insurance would have accepted him here, it's so sad that he will now have to be placed in a nursing home.
The Shepherd Center is a phenomenal place to heal, rehab and experience community. I had the privilege to meet Mr. & Mrs. Shepherd over a decade ago as an inpatient. Their life's work has greatly impacted so many lives from around the world. I was blessed to be there again in 2022.
Very Good Well Done

A Beautiful video. Thank you for sharing 🙂
Well, you HAVE lost a big part of who you are. Let's not be in denial now.
How can you mix an injury that needs rehabilitation and free healing with the help that a Church can provide? It has nothing to do with it, it's shameful how a person with a disability has to beg for charity when what they need is to have their needs met at no cost, focusing on their recovery and knowing that they will not be a financial burden on their family, nor take a little smile in a parish to get alms, are you in the 21st century? A country is great when it leaves no one behind, public and universal health, but of course the benefits of private hospitals and retrograde parishes lose and that never, they live and grow from the suffering of others, deplorable, some for money and others as a sect of recapture towards religion, you look like a story from the 18th century
God bless this young man
I am so thankful to have been accepted here. I just need to arrange transportation and the rehab can begin. God bless everyone that makes Shepherd the best
This place saved my husband's life. It is everything and above that she said
